SPIRITUAL MEANING
|
A Memorial to the Passover Lamb
and the deliverance from Egypt
|
Leaven is a type of Evil. God desires
His people to be
free from Evil.
|
The Wave Sheaf
was praise to God
for the first harvest
of barley.
|
The Wave Offering of the Loaves baked with Leaven was
praise for the full early harvest.
|
A time specified by God "for the blowing of the
trumpets."
In celebration of the complete Fall harvest.
|
This is one annual day for "Israel's Cleansing
from Sin." A time
to afflict the soul in repentance.
|
A Memorial of the Wandering in the Wilderness. One week all families to live in
booths. A "Harvest Fest."
|
HOW observed by the JEWS
|
Observed by every household who ate the Passover Lamb
and the Meal in memory of the Passover in Egypt.
|
All families were careful to purge all Leaven from
their homes for this
week as a sign of abstaining from sin.
|
Worshippers watch in Temple as the Priest waves the
Sheaf in thanks to God for the first harvest of barley.
|
Worshippers in the Temple watch the Priest wave the 2
leavened loaves in praise to God for the full early harvest each year.
|
During two days of this Festival, 30 trumpets were to
blow. The "Last Trump,"
the
great Tek'iah, was
at sundown.
|
Known also as Yom Kippur, "covering for
sin." After 7 days of
affliction on the Nation is forgiven by God.
|
The greatest of the Festivals especially the last
(eighth) day, known as the last - "the Great Day" of the Feast.
|
HOW observed BY JESUS

Jesus and His disciples partook of the Passover Meal
one day early.

EXPECTED FULFILLMENT
|
Christ's death as God's Passover Lamb provides
salvation for all believers.
|
By His holy life, Christ gives His imputed
righteousness to all who believe in Him.
|
Christ overcame Death, hell and the Grave. Because He lives, we too shall live!
|
Though we are weak and sinful, the Holy Spirit is
given to empower and guide us.
|
It is possible that Christ will fulfill
Trumpets as He did the first four Festivals, by His
return for us.
|
On this day our Lord will return in power, and He
will reconcile the Jews and restore them to His favor.
|
It may be on this day our Lord will set up His
Millennial Kingdom, God will dwell on Earth with man.
|
